The Backyard Care Company
We make your yard wonderful
Kid, dog & bee-friendly mosquito control
What do we do?
- We eliminate mosquitos. Our two-part program protects your lawn and garden by killing adult mosquitos on contact and keeping them from reproducing.
- Our barrier spray treatment utilizes natural but effective solutions like lemongrass oil and geraniol to kill mosquitos in shrubs and other roosting areas and drive them away in the weeks that follow.
- Our larvicide mosquito traps suppress mosquito populations by attracting egg-laying mosquitos and preventing their larvae from reaching adulthood on your property.
- Our installed systems are designed to protect decks, patios and other high use areas. They emit an active vapor barrier that repels mosquitoes, ensuring you can enjoy your outdoor spaces even during the most mosquito-intensive times of day.
Why is it better?
- Our natural mosquito control solution actually works. It has a 100% knockdown rate, better than one of the most common chemical pesticides. Meanwhile it leaves your yard a healthier place for children, pets and bees.
- We don't charge expensive installation fees for our larvicide trap program. We don't want it to be financially burdensome to do what is necessary to keep your yard mosquito-free.
- We don’t charge monthly fees for the monitoring and maintenance of our installed systems. A single annual fee that fully guarantees the system and cartridge replacement costs are all you pay once the system is installed.
When do we come?
We spray for mosquitos and service the larvicide traps every 3 weeks from March through October.

What do we do?
- We nourish, inoculate, strengthen and protect plant life across your entire property—lawns and gardens—ensuring your outdoor spaces look beautiful for years to come.
- We focus on soil health, which is critical to achieving great near and long-term results. The dynamic, nutrient-rich soil we are creating will have your grass and plants looking healthier within weeks, and help your lawn require less watering and become more weed-resistant over time.
- We create the best looking lawns on the block without using any chemical fertilizers, which degrade soil, leach pollutants into the water table, and risk burning your yard. Our program, developed in consultation with leading soil scientists, is the most comprehensive and effective lawn and garden care program on the market, organic or otherwise.
Why is it better?
- Our fertilization program doesn’t just turn your grass green. It restores your soil and strengthens all the plants on your property. Your yard will be more naturally weed-resistant, retain water more effectively, and drain more efficiently.
- Meanwhile chemical fertilizers erode your soil, undermine your lawn’s ability to care for itself, and dramatically increase the amount of water needed to keep your yard healthy.
- Better water retention isn’t just about greener, healthier grass on hot summer days—It will make a significant difference in your water bill. We’ve seen people using our program decrease their watering needs by half during the height of summer, saving them hundreds of dollars a month.
- Better draining isn’t just about aesthetics and keeping your yard usable. It’s also part of our mosquito control program. A few days of standing water in a yard can be all a mosquito egg needs to become a biting adult.
When do we come?
We’ll fertilize your yard 6-7 times a year. Which exact materials are applied at each visit will vary.

Get a QuoteGood ol’ fashioned poop scoopin’
What do we do?
- We scoop poop! Dog poop specifically. We'll thoroughly scan your yard to ensure we've removed all visible pet waste.
- We’ll treat brown spots left by pet waste, helping to restore the yard and make it more resistant to discoloration and disease in the future.
- We’ll dispose of it in your trash can if it’s accessible. Otherwise we'll dispose of it offsite.
Why is it important?
- Unattended dog waste is a health hazard: dog poop contains bacteria and parasites such as giardia and roundworm that can enter your soil and cause serious illness in children and pets.
- Unattended dog waste is an environmental hazard: dog poop doesn't act as fertilizer. Its high levels of nitrogen burn your yard and, along with parasites and bacteria, work their way into soil and the water table.
- Poop does not scoop itself. Someone needs to scoop it. It’s kind of wonderful when you aren’t that person.
When do we come?
We’ll come scoop your yard once a week. For an additional fee, we’re happy to come and scoop twice a week.
How much does it cost?
Pricing starts at $20/week and varies depending on the number of dogs you have. Like all services, we bill a flat monthly fee.
